Man Gets N400,000 At Abia Hotels Due To His Selfless Service

Man Gets N400,000 At Abia Hotels Due To His Selfless Service

As shared by a facebook user and the Newly elected FNS president:

Something happened at the victory party at Abia hotels yesterday..

That young man is an indigene of Isialangwa South if I am correct. He was the former President, Fed. Poly Nekede chapter of FNS. He has been on hardship for years now. He's a graduate. He has nothing doing. He rides Okada in Nekede. He contributed to my campaign immensely without requesting for any money from me.

What shocked me was that this poor young man carried me in his Okada from Nekede to Aba because I ran out of money after campaigning in Futo, IMO Poly, Alvan, Nekede and Imsu. It was a long journey. Very risky for me on that bike. God saw us through to Aba. When we arrived Aba, I only gave him #200. He accepted and returned to Nekede.

I cried after the victory because of him. Then I had to stand up today and plead to Barr. Henry Chilaka, the Sole Administrator, Asopadec, Abia State to change the life of this young man. Lo and behold the request was granted as he was given a sum of #400,000 to purchase a TAXI and continue his transport business. I dedicate this victory to him. Congratulations on your new Taxi bro. I can never forget anybody who stood by me. I am from a poor background and will never forget the poor.

This is my first achievement in FNS.
Am grateful to God alone.

Fresh New You! – A Guide To Looking And Feeling Brand New

Fresh New You! – A Guide To Looking And Feeling Brand New

Ever find yourself in a situation where your crush gives you the red light (ella!) and you need to switch up your swag? Or maybe you have just become bored with your usual lifestyle and have decided to switch it up a bit? It’s only a natural reaction to desire a change in lifestyle after a while or an experience. Whatever the case, you can start on a journey to make your life anew. Read on!

A new look means a new attitude, new lifestyle, new clothes, new hairstyle and a renewed energy. Learn how to express the real you and let others see you too! Want to look new, feel new and have a fresh outlook to your life? Here’s how to do it.

Plan for it
Before you decide to embark on the journey to transform yourself, you need to figure out what kind of transformation it would be and why. Do you want to be more conservative? Or, are you looking to stand out more and have people notice you? You don’t need the perfect situation or permission from anyone else but if you aren’t sure what effect you are going for quite yet, don’t start!.

Clean up!
Have you been neglecting your appearance? Or have you been keeping an untidy space? The first step to transforming yourself is to clean yourself up. Clean out old clothes, clean out your living space, etc This will allow you to let go of the things that no longer suit you. Sort through your belongings and decide what can be tossed and what can be salvaged.

Invest in looking good
Becoming a new person includes getting a new wardrobe that fits the new you beautifully. Taking your lifestyle needs into consideration, i.e. work, school, social life, etc; you should build your new look starting from items that you already have. From clothes, to shoes to accessories that go with, invest in styles that suit you.

Tailor your budget to fit.
It’s common misconception to think that transforming yourself means spending your life’s savings. Wrong! Be realistic and only spend on what you can afford. Save up for good items if you can’t afford them now or buy in bulk and spread out your expenses over time.

Pamper yourself.
It’s FUN! Who doesn’t enjoy getting pampered every so often? Going to a spa, or on a wardrobe shopping spree can be the kind of boost to your life that you need. It can be a social event, and it can also be a hobby.

'You Weren’t Born Gay' - Former Nigerian Lesbian And Club Girl Says

Taking to Instagram to share her testimony of being offered job as the acting pharmacist in one of the best Egyptian hospitals in Abuja, a former Nigerian Lesbian Sophia disclosed how God instructed her to quit the club and being a lesbian while holding a 'You weren’t born gay' sign.

Here's what he wrote;

"My neighbour asked me yesterday' He said ; did you get broke at the club hence God?
I responded you don't get broke at the club, neither do you have money, do anything tangeable with what you had or make life changing impacts.

When I left the club onlookers thought I was being unrealistic.
Lo & behold a day after my return to abuja from bible school, i got offered a placement as an acting pharmacist in one of the best egyptian hospitals Abuja has @KatameyaFirstcallHospital off a conversation on the benefits of amala with no CV submitted.
You didn't know I was a pharmacist right ? U thought I wasn't career minded ? That's what being away from the creator makes of you, a mediocrity.

Note that for every prayer rendered, an instruction is passed back, God is not a magician he needs you to co-operate work with him to have doors open. God gave Abraham instructions to follow before the blessings. Have you obeyed any, Do you even have the channels to recieveing instructions?
Mine was quit the club , draw unto me. As difficult as that may seem by grace I obeyed .

Nigerian Victim Of Sex Trafficking In Italy Tells Her Shocking Story

Nigerian Victim Of Sex Trafficking In Italy Tells Her Shocking Story

Cynthia recounts her story: “I had problems back in Nigeria, family problems.” Cynthia says. “My aunties, well, a woman I was so close to in my village I called her auntie, said her brother ran a pharmacy in Italy and he needed a girl to help him there.”

“Straight away I asked her if it was prostitution,” she remembers, “but she took me in like her own daughter, and we were so close, so when she said if it was prostitution, I wouldn’t let you go, I believed her.”

“She was lying. When I got to Libya, the boga –a man– told me I wouldn’t be working in a pharmacy, but that I was going to be a prostitute.” Cynthia says. “I cried all through the night, but I could not go back, I could only move forward to Italy.”

“When I arrived on 25 June, 2016, they transferred me to [a hotspot in] Trappani for a week, then to a camp in Reggio Calabria. There a woman gave me a telephone to call my auntie.” She says. “I said, ‘I’m here.’ And then that phone that I used was ringing all the time, a woman was calling to arrange for a man to come and get me out of the camp.”

“One day, a man came to get me. We waited in a supermarket, and another man came who drove me somewhere in Sicily. I don’t know where it was, but when we got there, they took me to the woman I spoke to on the phone. She gave me a bed, and in the morning she woke me up and said she works with my auntie, and that now I was her prostitute.”

“I argued and fought with her all day until the night. Then she took me into her bedroom and she cut my wrist and collected my blood. She took pieces of my hair, and took my menstruation pad and put it all into a bag. She said if I go away from her, she will take my blood to Nigeria and use Juju to poison my blood.”

“The next day, we took a train to Calabria, and the woman gave me the things I need to work - panties, a bra, and condoms,” Cynthia remembers, “She told me I owed her €30,000 for the trip and I was going to work to pay it off. I told her the trip wasn’t that much, but she said ’That’s not my concern and if I ran to the police they would deport me.”

“I was scared of her, of the police, of everything, so I agree,” she says.

“I saw the man who took me from the camp again, and he took me to the place I would be working. We called it Lentini, and was a road between that town and Catania. It was just a road in the bush, with so many girls working on it.”

“He said I needed to change my clothes and into the underwear they gave me, and if a car came, I had to take the driver into the bush for sex.” Cynthia says. “In the bushes and on the small roads there were beds, he said.”

“I worked from morning until the nighttime. I can’t remember how many men I was with, but it was a lot. When I got back to the house I was crying and I told the madam I wanted to call my parents, but she said no and demanded the money I had made.”

“I did the same thing every day in June, July, August, September, and October. In October, in the early morning, the police came to the door and knocked and shouted ‘Open up!’ The madam was running everywhere and she locked me and some other girls in the bedroom. I hid in the bath, and the police took the other girls and the madam.”

“Eventually I followed them to the police though, because I spoke to one of the girls and she said it was okay.”

Cynthia was transferred to the safe house for women who are victims of sex trafficking where she awaits her paperwork to be processed.

“I’m hoping that the government helps me with my documents, and that I can find a job. That’s my only way out of this. I’ll be okay and earning money and sending it home to my family. I would finally be happy because my family would be happy.”

 Victory Over Debts- Segun Adewunmi

Victory Over Debts- Segun Adewunmi

Debt is an entanglement of the devil. Some became debtors without knowing how they got into the situation. They discover suddenly that the value of what they have, if sold, is not enough to pay their debts. Today, many people owe banks, moneylenders and individuals. Inability to pay the debts has led to a lot of people committing suicide. Others have had hypertension and some are completely confused.

Debt is one of the weapons the devil uses to imprison and capture people. It is used to steal individuals’ liberty and place them as slaves to their creditors. It can come as spiritual attack through dreams. Some people may find themselves counting money in their dreams and this can lead to debts and indebtedness. It is also possible to find oneself in the midst of human faeces in a dream. One can also find oneself inside erosion water. All these are situations of spiritual mess and the physical dimension or manifestation could be debts and indebtedness.

I was once in debts with no means to pay back. I continue to pray and one day, God instructed me to go and price a Jeep and a house promising to buy both for me within 10 days. I did as I was directed and within 10 days I paid back all my debts and also bought both the property and the Jeep.

The Bible tells us in 2 Kings 4:1-7 of a woman, whose two sons were taken into custody for the debts their late father owed. The woman approached Prophet Elisha probably for financial help, but rather than help financially, Elisha requested the woman to use her talent for evangelism to get out of the bad situation, the woman did and God paid the entire debt. Same as the woman, a lot of debtors have what it takes to pay their debts and make further money for a comfortable life.

All it requires to destroy the spirit of indebtedness is our commitment to God. Anyone in debts, who desires deliverance can meditate daily in the following Bible passages first in the morning and at bedtime.

“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.” (2nd Kings 4:1-7)
Other bible verses: Galatians 3:13-14, Col 2:13-14 and Isaiah 55:1-5

Debts result from a curse, but believers are no longer under any curse. I command through this medium that all manners of debts that torment your life are destroyed. I invoke John 8:36 that “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
May the Lord bless you.

Luke 18:1, 4,5 “Also JESUS told them a parable to the effect that they OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY and not to TURN COWARD (faint, lose heart and GIVE UP); and for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, though I have neither reverence or fear God nor respect or consideration for man; yet because this widow CONTINUES TO BOTHER ME, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last, she come and rail on me or ASSAULT me or STRANGLE me.” (AMP). Hebrews 10:35 “CAST NOT AWAY therefore YOUR CONFIDENCE, which hath GREAT RECOMPENSE OF REWARD.”

Both Biblical and Contemporary histories attest to the fact that, those WHO REFUSE TO QUIT always get their desired results and migrate to their expected destination no matter how tough or tortuous the journey might be. Nature cannot withstand PRESSURE.

Nature gives up its valuable substances when pressure has been consistently applied. Precious Minerals, Hydro-carbon, Crude Oil, etc become extractive property when pressure has been persistently applied.

Life gives us what we PERSISTENTLY DEMAND and not what we HUMANLY DESERVE. It is quite clear that God responds to our PERSISTENCE. Demons cannot withstand the believer’s persistent bombardment and Nature cannot stand applied pressure.

The Scripture says we are NOT TO CAST AWAY OUR CONFIDENCE, which God values greatly with great recompense of reward. It is on record that some Bible Characters got Heaven’s attention and intervention because of their obstinate persistence and their refusal to take “NO” for an answer.

Jacob told God that, “I would not let You go except YOU BLESS ME. Genesis 32:26 “And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, EXCEPT THOU BLESS ME” Hannah refused to leave and quit God’s presence. She remained there in God’s presence at Shiloh, pouring out her heart before God, even when the congregation had left. (1 Samuel 1: 10-12).

Blind Bartimeus refused to keep quiet when JESUS came to his immediate vicinity in Jericho. He did not succumb to the pressure of those who told him to keep quiet. JESUS stood still for Bartimeus’ attention in the midst of the crowd to answer the cry of the one who will not take “NO” for an answer. Luke 18:40 “And JESUS stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him.” Also, the woman with the issue of blood PRESSED through the PRESSURE OF THE CROWD, to touch JESUS and she got her healing because she would not take “NO” for an answer. Mark 5: 27-29 “When she had heard of JESUS, came IN THE PRESS behind, and touched His garment; for she said, If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole; and straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she WAS HEALED OF THAT PLAGUE.” In Matthew 15: 22-28, a woman referred to as “Woman of Canaan,” an outcast, notorious for her immoral disposition travelled a long distance to come to JESUS for the deliverance of her daughter. It is amazing that JESUS did not respond to her initially as she faced stiff resistance from the Apostles.

The disciples told the MASTER that she should be cast away because she was disturbing them. This woman REFUSED TO QUIT, despite the negative appellation she was tagged with. She went on worshipping the LORD and eventually secured the LORD’S intervention. JESUS taught us in Luke 18 that, we should NEVER QUIT as the subject widow refused to take “NO” for an answer. She employed the FORCE OF PERSISTENCE to weary out the UNJUST JUDGE.

Satan, the unjust judge cannot withstand the persistent bombardment of prayers from the believer. You are too close to your breakthrough now than when you first started. Just a little PUSH and you will get there. Fight on. All those who made history in very unfriendly environment, were those who recognised the power of persistence.

You are not a quitter, you are a GREAT WINNER. You will never lose your reward. Never take “NO” for an answer. God’s promises will surely come to pass in your life. Don’t ever be discouraged. Try one more time, again and again. Trust God more and you will surely laugh last.

PRAYER: In JESUS Name, I REFUSE TO QUIT. I repose my confidence AFRESH in the LORD. I trust in the Name of the LORD. I stand on the Word of God and I press on. I will never quit. I am a great winner.
'Tough Love'- Charles Ighele

'Tough Love'- Charles Ighele

In marriage and family counselling, there is a term we use. It is called “tough love.” By this we mean a situation, where you love your spouse or child or sibling very well, but you still need to take some tough disciplinary actions that are meant to make the person have a sense of what is right and wrong. For example, my first cousin would not have died, if her husband had used tough love. She was pregnant and insisted on giving birth to her baby in a prayer house instead of a hospital. Some days after delivery, she bled to death in the prayer house. According to her husband, he prevailed on her to be taken to the hospital, but she refused. My wife Carol and I were of the view that her husband was too soft. We felt he should have applied “tough love” by lovingly bundling her to the hospital. When a wife also sees that her husband will get into serious trouble due to an act of omission or commission, she can also lovingly apply the principle of tough love. Now, how does it apply to parenting our children?

Most times when children want to get a particular thing from their parents, they cry, scream, sob, throw tantrums, slap and hit their parents continuously and sometimes isolate themselves in a corner. Well, it is a common trait for all children to always ask and demand things endlessly from their parents. When a child throws away spoons or breaks household things because he or she has been denied a particular thing, parents should not allow such a child grow up in that manner.

Children think that they will always have whatever they ask their parents. Parents can apply “tough love”by saying an emphatic NO to a child, who is crying and demanding something. As a parent, you should know that it is not everything that children ask for that you give to them. Whenever you give a child something because he/she is crying, you are simply teaching the child the formula of getting things from you and they will grow up with that mindset. As “little dictators,” they try in a subtle way to command you to do whatever they want you to do. Crying, throwing tantrums and other antics are some of the ways they get you to do what they want.

Some parents borrow another child’s toy for their child simply because their child says he wants it and he starts crying. Other parents collect such things as biscuits or sweets on credit because their children have seen another child enjoying it. This is covetousness at its fledgling level. By the time the child grows up to become a full grown adult, he or she will go to any length to get anything, if they are not corrected.

Statements like “he will cry if I don’t give it to him,” “she will not allow me to rest, if I don’t give her the biscuits,” etc are untrue. You are only being weak as a parent. We are not saying parents should deprive their children gifts, but the point is that they should not always be cowed by the menace of the child’s subtle manipulative tactics of crying, sobbing and braking household things. This is when you should deploy “tough love” by saying a strong NO. Be tough in a loving way. Our spouses and our children should be made to have a sense of what is right and wrong.

Nigerian Authors Commence Building Of Writers’ Village

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) on Friday commenced the building process of its “Writers’ Village,” after 32 years of acquiring the land in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Malam Abdullahi Denja, the president of ANA in his address at the foundation laying ceremony in Mpape, Maitama Extension of the FCT said that the land was given to ANA in 1985 by late Major-Gen Mamman Vatsa , then Minister of the FCT.

Denja said that Vatsa donated 61.20 hectares of land members of the association which he was a proud member.

“Since then it has been a story of lack of capacity, failed promises, betrayal and trespasses; what we have left today of the original 61.20 hectares is about 36.9 hectares.

“On Jan. 24, 2013, after surviving a long battle over this same land with a supposed developer, ANA did a ground-breaking ceremony.

“We also did a turning of sod, under the auspices of the current developer, Korlie Mobs Venture Limited (KMVL).

“But we are here today to do the foundation laying Ceremony and to announce to the world that the period of actual development of the land towards realising the dream of Vatsa and that of all Nigerian writers has come,” Denja said.

According to the ANA president, when eventually completed, the edifice will house the national headquarters of ANA, 50 room hotel, residency chalets, 500-seater auditorium, archives and depositories.

He explained that the association’s strategic plan for 2017-2022 already had the development of the land as a priority.

He commended the efforts of previous leadership of the association who kept the dream alive in spite of the challenges.

“I therefore call on the Federal and State governments, corporate institutions, national and international donor agencies, individuals and groups to join hands with us as we build a place for literature culture in Abuja.

Also, Senator Shehu Sani, Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Debt said the commencement of the writers’ village was a sign of good thing to happen to Nigerian writers.

Sani, a profound writer, said the structure would be relevant in many years to come adding that generations would come to know about it and use it for the development of Nigerian writers and literature.

He however admonished the association to take the process gradually.

“The development of The United States and even the United Arab Emirate did not start in one day; there were completed through a gradual process.

“I know that writers had to wait for proceed from books before they could earn some money, but I believe we will get there.

“My strong adviser is that we should be gradual; our target should be to fence this area and build an office that would help to actualise this.

“The Chinese said that the journey of one thousand mile start with a step; that should be our focus,” Shehu said.

Also speaking, Dr Wale Okediran, the Chairman, ANA Land Development Committee said that ANA Congress had in 2016 resolved that some form of development must take place at the village before 2017 convention.

“A meeting of the ANA Land Committee with the developer, KMVL took place in February in Abuja.

“One major decisions taken at the meeting was the urgent need for a foundation laying ceremony to take place as soon as possible.

“It is my hope that with today’s ceremony, a concerted effort will be made by the developers for an appreciable development of the writers’ village before the next ANA convention,” Okediran said.

The Land Committee Chairman appreciated patrons of ANA and team of lawyers and developers who had struggled tirelessly over the past years “to make today’s dream a reality.”

He also solicited for more financial and moral support from Nigerians towards the completion of the project.

High point of the occasion was laying of the foundation block by Sani, Denja, Okediran, Shaw and others dignitaries at the event.

Side attractions include recitation of a poem written by Miss Halima Muhammed, entitled:’ The Mask’’ and another by Mrs Joan Orji, entitled “Mpape’’ written by Denja.

Lagos May Be Underdeveloping The Rest Of Nigeria- Chinedu George Nnawetanma

While much has been said about the diversification of Nigeria’s economy from petroleum, very little has been mentioned about its diversification from Lagos.

About one in every eight Nigerians lives in Lagos, a sprawling metropolis near the southwestern extremity of Africa’s most populous country. Not only is Lagos the economic epicenter of Nigeria, but also virtually every sector of the country’s economy is rooted there: commerce, manufacturing, finance, banking, insurance, healthcare, real estate, information technology, entertainment, media, hospitality, tourism, fashion, arts and sports.

Lagos accounts for about 30% of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and more than 50% of its non-oil GDP, according to the Lagos state government, which goes further to claim that the city accounts for over 80%, 70%, 60% and 50% of the country’s international aviation traffic, maritime cargo freight, industrial and commercial activities and energy consumption respectively. Additionally, the Lagos state government was responsible for about 38.44% of the combined internally generated revenue of Nigeria’s 36 states in 2016.

For a country of over 180 million people and numerous other urban centers, these figures are huge and disconcerting. Unsurprisingly, Lagos’ alluring economic climate has seen economic migrants throng to it from all across Nigeria, in pursuit of economic opportunities that are all but lacking elsewhere. Over 600,000 new residents arrive Lagos on an annual basis, that is, over 1.2 million in two years. By contrast, London, which is arguably the world’s premier global city, welcomes only about half of that, despite possessing the caliber of infrastructure that Lagos can only dream of.

This economic asymmetry wherein Lagos wields such a disproportionate influence over the rest of Nigeria has had pronounced repercussions for both. For Lagos, its exploding population puts an enormous strain on its already overstretched infrastructure, encourages the mushrooming of slums in communities at the fringes of public utilities, widens the gulf between the rich and the poor and surges the crime rate.

Its fragile natural environment has also struggled to cope with the pressure of ever-increasing human activity. Indiscriminate urbanization has disrupted the natural equilibrium within and around the city, making it prone to environmental disasters such as flooding, erosion and sea level rise.

It should therefore come as no surprise that the Economist Intelligence Unit, in the 2016 edition of its Global Livability Index, ranked Lagos as the third worst major city in the world, coming only before the war-ravaged Tripoli and Damascus.

For Nigeria, its Lagos-centric economy has undermined its development everywhere else, leading to the stunted performance of secondary cities like Enugu, Onitsha, Kano, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Aba, Jos and Ibadan as their human capital are regularly haemorrhaged and absorbed by Lagos. It has also made the entire economy vulnerable to shocks emanating from Lagos; an economic meltdown there can have catastrophic reverberations countrywide.

The bulk of the blame for Nigeria’s skewed economic architecture must be shouldered by its successive federal governments for a consummate failure in national economic planning and the equitable geographical distribution of the mechanisms of development. By accident or design, almost all federal government investments and development projects in Nigeria are channelled into or through Lagos.

This is at variance with what is obtainable in more successful economies like Germany, the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, China and even South Africa whose secondary cities receive as much attention as their leading economic hubs, enabling them to remain competitive and complement those first cities.

To engineer the accelerated and uniform development of Nigeria, concerted effort must be made by the federal government to promote investments in other parts of the country, especially in the secondary cities. Among other things, adequate hard and soft infrastructure must be provided to boost their investment readiness and pave the way for the birth of stronger local economies that will generate well-paying jobs and curb the need to migrate to Lagos for gainful employment.

Part of the blame also lies with the governments of the other 35 states that make up the country for failing to put enough effort into utilizing their comparative advantages for sustained economic progress.

Finally, the private sector has a role to play too. They must get out of their comfort zone in Lagos and seek out new opportunities in uncharted economic territories that abound in the country. Nigeria is more than just Lagos.

My Stance Is To Stand Out By My Being Authentic Self- Letter From DJ Obi Appreciating @Ahdoraspeaks

"It took me sooo long to post this, cause honestly i was really trying to figure out how to put the way our timelines crossed and our journey so far in words. I want to believe we officially met face to face in Miami FL for a conference that actually didn't even hold, and we quickly understood each other cause during that trip we made things happen for ourselves. We led the pack and turned around a bad situation . After that, we kept in touch on a frequent basis and that is how creativity and ideas started pouring out.

You decided to take my matter as your responsibility, and today i can confidently say that you brought the DJ Obi brand to life, even in the beginning when i thought it was a cruise, you opened my eyes and my mind to all the possibilities and made me understand the business side of "fun".

I remember the days of working at TD bank and we would sit on the phone for ages talking about big dreams and hosting huge parties and concerts. How we wanted to set a standard for the Nigerian entertainment industry. You took it upon yourself to build my first ever website and sorted out my first 1,000 business cards.

The first time i ever heard "Obi you are a mad DJ o" was from you. I remember the epic birthday party at 40/40 in NYC 😂😂. We became trendsetters from day one. You made me understand originality, i made my decision that my stance is to stand out by being my authentic self from watching you and taking to most of the advice you gave me.

When you told me you were getting married, i thought to myself "this guy must be either insane or really smart" cause to be able to keep up with the way your brain works is a task on its own, for someone to sign up to do that for life is just amazing.

Fast forward to now. You have helped soooooo many brands grow, a lot of the people in the nigerian entertainment space are successful today cause of that one meeting with Adaora. As you embark on this new phase, i pray for nothing but success for you and the team. 'I dey beg, please carry your boy along with you o. When @ahdoraspeaks my advice is that everyone should listen. You will learn a thing or two that will change your life'.

Meet Creative Industrialist, Adaora.

Please, no matter how close the camp might be to your street, enable to go early. If you are posted to a far state, go the day before the camp opens. They will allow you in. Going late will make you go through registration stress. Be warned!

4. Screening:

The screening starts at the gate, where your loads are open and thoroughly search. They don’t want you to bring in prohibited items like iron, knives, bombs, etc.

5. Registration:

The first registration will certainly be for hostel/bedspace, where you;ll be given tags to identify with. Then the paper registrations proper follows. try as much as possible to make everything available. Look out for information pasted on walls. Follow instructions strictly.

6. Your Kits:

During the registration, you will get all your kits (shirts, shorts and shoes). Use the marker to write your Code Number (CN) on them ‘sharp-sharp” You will also be given a tag that will show your CN. That will be your ID Card temporarily. You take it everywhere in camp. You will be given a meal ticket. Misplace it and forget about NYSC food.

7. Duration:

You will be in the camp for 20 full days. The 21st day is the day you will be leaving the camp.

8. No Room For Casual Wears:

Immediately you have your kits, only your T-shirt and shorts with the tennis shoe are allowed on you. No room for casual wears. Parade/marching training starts immediately. The soldiers will not give you breathing space at all. You will have the first one that same Day One. Watch Out! people could be fainting on the Parade Ground. You won’t faint, calm down… So eat well. It’s the stress that causes their fainting.

9. Morning Regimented Programme:

A small trumpet wakes you at 4am. Everybody gathers at the Parade Ground (PG) at 4:30am. You have your praise, worship and prayer the Christian and Muslim ways. After the morning admonitions, by 7am, breakfast follows! After eating, you will be called out again for the series of programmes lined up for you. Then you have your lunch. Rest a little and you are out again for evening parade. Then later your dinner. This will repeat itself everyday perhaps except on Sunday.

10. Hate The Food And Feed Yourselves At Your Costs:

You may not like the food. You can always go to the Mammy Market (MM) i.e the Camp Market to fill your ‘tank’ with delicacies at your cost.

11. Stealing:

Stealing is prevalently prevailing at the Camp. This is ‘legalised’. They can steal anything. Be wise.

12. Soldiers:

Please i beckon on you all to respect and obey them. although they are not permitted to beat you, however, they can punish you. No walking, its all jogging when they call you. Don’t prostrate or kneel down greeting a soldier. Do it the soldier way. They could be friendly anyway.

13. Allawe:

Your first allowance (#19, 800) will be given to you in the camp, and it will be in cash. All other ones will be through the bank. You will also get Bicycle Allowance.

14. Photography:

Photographers are going to be everywhere ready to snap you, please be prudent in spending.

15. By Now Your Done With Camp And Going To Your Place Of Primary Assignment:

You will be posted from the camp to where you will work. The place you work in is called your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). Hear this: most Corps members, I mean about 90% of the Corpers will be posted to schools (especially primary and secondary schools). Only VERY FEW will be posted to the universities, polytechnics and Colleges. Please! Don’t lobby for your posting. Don’t pay anybody for assistance. Pray rather than pay. Gone are the days when Corps Members are posted to Banks and Co. Receive the shocking or expected postings as you receive your letters with joy. It’s a clarion call to service; that’s what dey call it.

16. Transportation Out Of Camp:

When you get your Posting Letter, the first place to go to is your PPA. If you are identified with the Fellowship in camp, you may first report at the temporary lodge they will provide. Then you could report at your PPA later same day or the following day. Please, when you leave the camp, home- sweet-home will be on your mind, having been used up in the camp. But please, don’t go home straight. Please! Very few of your employers (i.e. PPAs) will send down vehicles to convey you from the camp to their workplaces. Private and some Govt higher education institutions do. The Fellowship too make arrangement for you at your cost. Commercial transporters will likely be
available at the gate too. Be wise.

17. Accommodation At PPA:

You don’t know anybody in Benue or Kogi! Where will you sleep on the first day? The Fellowship may give you a temporary accommodation pending the time you will have to get yours. You could be lucky if your employer gives you a room. Many of them don’t give Corpers accommodation anyway. So be prepared to rent one at your cost. Your first ‘allowee’ which you received in the camp is already going down!

18. Clearance:

This is why you don’t have to go home straight. Your registration (clearance) at the NYSC Office in the Local Govt you will be posted to is important. Failure to complete it before going home is the beginning of your problem. He may begin to have problems with his subsequent monthly allowances. Do all registrations first. Then you can take permission to go home. Long process! You will know why it’s so. Well, I hope these few tips will go a long way to help you.

In order to ensure a seamless registration process, printing of call-up letters and so on, prospective corps members are urged to visit these NYSC sites below:

Social Media Is Ruining The Future- Concerned Nigerian Cries Out

"Of all the tools available to keep track of the past, social media could prove the most detrimental.

Let's take Instagram for example. Imagine having to explain to your children why an image that was taken in 2017 has the same desaturated colors as the one taken in 1970. The picture is essentially a copy of one they might see from generations earlier, taken by your grandparents and featuring your mum or dad as kids.

The worst is Snapchat...
"Hey Kids, that's your grandma on the night I met her, don't bother about the dog ears, nose, and tongue. Wasn’t she beautiful?.

For thousands of years, humans relied on spoken word as a means to pass stories from one generation to the next. Later, communication progressed to information written on scrolls and rock, audio recordings, and then video. Now, we have the means to preserve each of these in our pocket..

The impact of this is humongous. Each person with a smartphone now has the means to create a historical archive, and can do that with every image, video, or status update.

And aside from all the ways we’re messing up historical archives with dog-eared lenses and Instagram filters, we haven’t even touched on the bigger issue: the massive amount of data we’re leaving future generations.

On Facebook alone, users upload more than 350 million photos a day. Twitter sees around 500 million new tweets daily — that’s around 6,000 per second. And it’s not really the amount of data that's the problem; it’s the lot's of useless information we’re leaving.

I feel bad for future historians that will invariably have to make a proper analysis to get an accurate view of our history."

Major Throwback From Adekunle Gold

The singer has taken to Instagram to share a major throwback of him as a sculptor. In his caption, he said, 'The best way to predict the future is to create it.
If your strength is failing and you need motivation, here's one.

To Everyone Who’s Financially Breaking, You’ll Be Okay

I happen to be a member of Medium.com and while scrolling through my mails of stories and articles written by some talented individuals, i was chanced on seeing this post and so here i am sharing it with you;

You have what it takes.

“If people bring so much courage to this world, the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break, it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.”
― Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms

If you’re one of the very good ones, the world will break you. Not because you’ve done anything wrong, but because you’re ready to face a choice, to take responsibility for circumstances that were never your fault, to grow up. You’re ready to say, it may be messy, but I got this.

I got this.

Whether you break into a million pieces and die, or heal instead as a stronger person depends on you coming to terms with this simple thing.

Whatever you think is right today, you’ll see was wrong tomorrow. You know nothing.

Your job is to become humble again. Your job is to figure out how you’re wrong, not right, everyday and do things differently bit by bit. I know it’s the opposite of “positive thinking.”

I bought into the school of “positive thinking” and it made me a jerk. I was convinced I was right everyday for twenty years.

When I was little, I thought my dad was king. I thought I would fall in love with one person and live happily ever after.

I also had no idea that something called ‘gravity’ kept me from floating away from the earth. I thought chicken tenders were gourmet. I thought orange juice only came out of a frozen can with a sucking noise and needed to be mixed with water. I believed that our local lake, Lake Arrowhead, was the biggest lake in the United States until my friend Nick told me it was a puddle compared to the Great Lakes.

I was smart, but I knew nothing.

The good ones are ready to surrender their beliefs. The good ones are willing to say, fuck it, maybe she’s right. Maybe I don’t know why she feels the way she does, but I choose to take responsibility for figuring it out. Maybe it’s something I did. Maybe not. If you’re ready to feel stupid again, because we all are, it’s okay. You’re wearing big girl pants.

The good ones are willing to take the punch, fall down, and get back up better than ever, but never the same.

They get back up a little smarter every time.

If you’re like everyone you know, you’re barely keeping it together.

You’re driving yourself crazy, living a life of regrets. Seeing the fault in others and feeling angry that you didn’t get what you deserve. Especially in your financial life.

Let go of what went wrong yesterday. Give yourself a break. After all, you didn’t know better. Forget about tomorrow too. You don’t want to build tomorrow the same way you used to build tomorrows. Stop, and just break.
