How To Prepare Nigerian Jellof Rice.

Nigerian Jellof rice, is the most popular rice recipe in Nigeria. It is also known as party rice. Most party planners in Nigeria stick to jellof rice just as the Nigerian fried rice. Jellof rice is the most wanted meal in a party. Jellof rice is so easy to make if you follow the right steps in preparing it. I know it might be challenging for the newbie. i will give you the basic steps in preparing Nigerian jellof rice. fellow the steps below.

Ingredients For Nigerian Jellof Rice.

 *100ml Of Vegetable Oil.
*5 Big Whole Of Tomatoes.
*3 Cups Of Precooked Long Grain Rice.
*5 Tablespoon Of Tomatoes Paste.
*1 Red Bell Pepper.
*Goat meat/Chicken Stock.
*Medium sized onion bulb.(chopped)
*Salt To Taste
*2 Stock Cube.
*1/2 teaspoon of curry and tyme.
*Pepper As Desired.

How To Prepare Nigerian Jellof Rice.

Parboil the rice and keep it aside. Cook your meat till it becomes tender, you can as well fry it after cooking it. Make a little stew sauce by grinding the whole tomato and the bell pepper together. Then dry out the water by boiling the blended tomato and pepper for about 10 minutes with medium heat. After this process, place your clean pot on heat, add your vegetable oil, then pour in your chopped onions and fry it for some minutes, add your already tried up grinded tomato and pepper mix, then fry it for about 15 minutes after that add your tomato puree. Cook until the tomatoes sour taste is out and the oil begin to rise to the top. After all this, take out a few part of the stew and set it aside. Add your meat to the pot on heat and allow it to boil for some time. Then add your curry, tyme, salt to taste and your seasoning stock cubes and allow it to boil for another 5 minutes. Add your already parboiled rice into the stew on heat and mix it thoroughly then cover the pot and leave to cook on a medium heat. When the stew in the rice is almost dried up, add the remaining portion of stew to the top of the stew then cover the pot and allow to simmer until there is no more liquid in the rice. Mix it thoroughly and your jellof rice is ready to be served. Enjoy your meal.
