The Federal government has been urged to take immediate steps to put in place measures that will lessen the suffering of the masses. A former Legislator, Hon. Johnson Fatoki who lamented yesterday that Nigerians are going through “serious hardships”, insisted that it was regrettable that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government has inflicted “more sufferings” on Nigerians despite their pledge to improve on the living standard of the people during their campaign.
Fatoki who spoke to The Guardian in Abeokuta, insisted that “What the APC government promised Nigerians is not what they are implementing. The only noise we are hearing is that they are fighting corruption but even that, none of the suspects have been convicted.”
“It is sad that two years into this government, the economy has grown worse, the electricity situation is not faring better and infrastructure is at standstill. The only yardstick of measuring success is getting positive results; we are not getting positive results. Prices of all goods and services are going up everyday.”

On the government’s anti-graft war,he said, “The government needs to be objective in the area of fighting corruption. The anti-graft agencies make unnecessary noise in the media and at the end of the day nothing to show for it.”
