Alphonsus Dike Resigns From Technical Adviser Post Citing Sabotage And ‎Breach Of Contract

Alphonsus Dike has resigned from his post as the Technical Adviser at Heartland following accusations of sabotage and breach of contract against the club.

Dike, who won the club's last league trophy in 1993, had earlier taken over from former head coach Bethel Orji after Matchday 9 games in the Nigerian Professional Football League.

The resignation letter dated July 18, 2016 was submitted to the General ‎Manager of the club Oscar Keke on July 18. In the letter copied to the club chairman Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Deputy Speaker Imo State House of Assembly stated that sabotage was his reason for throwing in the towel with 11 matches left in the current season in addition to accusing the club's management of contractual breaches.

According to Dike, he was not provided with a conducive environment to work in. In his words, he said: "Recall that‎ I've been paying my transport fare to away matches so far in the league.

The former Rangers, Enyimba and Nasarawa United coach, who is being owed two months salary excluding the month of July, also revealed that the club signed players. He never recommended. Dike said: "The management recruited and signed players that I never recommended nor had input during the mid-season."
"They also sold key players of the club during the transfer window without my notice and approval." he further added. ‎
