Five Workers Electrocuted To Death In Lagos.

Nigeria has lost more lives as five workers were electrocuted in the area of Odi Olowo, Adedoja Street Mushin on New year day after a high tension wire fell from the electrical poles. We gathered that most of the victims just rounded off their prayer at the Temidire Central Mosque. The incident was said to be caused by the fireworks which hit the some of the high tension wire on the pole. The Incident happened at exactly 12;15 am while others people were celebrating the new Year.  A victim Adebayo who miraculously Escaped Explained what happened, He said..
when we finished the prayer in the mosque and people left, The Iman said we should wait for another round of prayers and about five of us waited. It was while we were waiting that i observed that a man on a motorcycle had set off fireworks that hit the high tension. About three minutes after the man drove into adedoja street the high tension wire cut, snapped and fell. All i can remember is that the cable gripped me and threw me off, from where i was, i saw three other people lying on the floor. It was God that delivered me.
The Police Public Relation officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed one victim death, said investigations were still ongoing.
