Shock! Murray Loses Season Opener In Abu Dhabi

World number one Andy Murray surprisingly suffered a shock straight sets defeat against David Goffin of Belgium in the semi-finals of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi in what was the first match of the new season.

Murray, who had not lost a set in his previous five encounters against his opponent, was beaten 7-6 (7-4) 6-4.

By virtue of the win, David Goffin will now face Rafael Nadal in the final of the exhibition event after the Spaniard saw off Milos Raonic 6-1 3-6 6-3 while Murray and Canadian Raonic square up against each other on Saturday for the third-place play-off.
