Williams Sisters Win 6th Wimbledon Doubles Title


World number one Serena Williams and her sister, Venus teamed up together to win their 6th Wimbledon title and their 14th overall title following a straight sets over Timea Babos of Hungary and Yaroslava Shevdova of Kazakhstan.
The Williams sisters defeated the duo 6-3 6-4 to secure the title sixteen years after they won their first title in 2000. Their last Wimbledon title together came in 2012 and they are now with a perfect record of 14-0 in Grand Slam finals.
Serena Williams has now won both the singles and doubles event at the Wimbledon Open on four occasions while Venus has also won the double twice. It is a remarkable achievement for the sisters, who are also targeting their 4th gold medal when the 2016 Rio Olympics starts next month.
