Rogers Cup: Serena Williams Pulls Out Of Tournament In Montreal With ‎Shoulder Injury


American tennis star Serena Williams has pulled out of the Rogers Cup tournament in Montreal, Canada because of a shoulder injury.


The 34-year old world number one has not played since winning her seventh Wimbledon title and has now pulled out of next week's tournament with an inflammation in her shoulder.

Aside Serena Williams, who last won the tournament in 2013, title holder and British number one Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have also pulled out of the men's tournament in Toronto. 

Serena Williams is however expected to defend her singles and doubles titles when the tennis event begins on August 6 at the Olympic Games.
