Multi-national oil company Total will replace telephone company Orange as the title sponsor for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in a deal that will run for the next eight years.
The sponsorship covers the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) as well as the women's AFCON, U17, U20, U23 AFCONS, CHAN as well as CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup and Super Cup.
CAF President Issa Hayatou while speaking on the new partnership said: "This partnership is a major milestone in our ongoing search for additional resources to accelerate African football's development."
"As a leading multinational in its field, with strong ties to Africa, Total will make a significant contribution to CAF's initiatives to foster personal and professional growth for young Africans." he further added.
Total is one of the major contributors to the. African economy with operations in 40 countries on the continent.
