Istanbul Airport Attack: Turkish Court Jail Seven Suspects

A Turkish court has jailed seven suspects, who are foreign nationals, pending trial on terrorism charges over last month's triple suicide bombing at Istanbul's main airport thus bringing the number of suspects in custody to 37.

The suspects have been charged following last month's heartless attack at Ataturk Airport, which claimed the lives of 45 people and wounded hundreds and is regarded as the deadliest in a series of bombings this year in Turkey.

According to media reports, 11 of the 37 suspects detained are Russians corroborating comments from one government official, which stated that the attackers were Russian, Uzbek and Kyrgyz nationals. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said that Islamic State militants from the former Soviet Union were behind the attack.
