Governor Oshiomhole's Godson Emerges As 'Potential' Deputy Governor In Edo State

Edo State Governor's Godson and a member of the House of Representatives, Philip Shuaibu, has emerged as the running mate of All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate Godwin Obaseki.

He was reportedly picked as Obaseki's running mate this week despite the disagreement of some leaders from Edo Central Senatorial District. Shuaibu's emergence as a 'potential' Deputy Governor was made possible by the voting strength of Etsako people in Edo North which has three local government areas - Edo Central lost the position because they lacked this.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Professor Julius Ihonvbere, former Secretary to the Government, Simon Imuekheme, Victor Eboigbe, John Akhigbe, Peter Esele and Prince Joe Okogie were also said to be in the running before Shuaibu's emergence.
