Edo State Gas Explosion Kills Three Persons

An unfortunate gas explosion has claimed the lives of three persons at 32, Osazuwa Street, along Agbor road, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

The deceased were identified as Favour Okotie, 11, Odion Okotie, 2, and one Augustine popularly called Ebo. Ten persons were also reportedly injured from the fatal incident, which occured at about 7am on Sunday.

The gas explosion was triggered when a gas cylinder kept in one of the rooms exploded, when majority of the occupants in the house were preparing to go out.

The remains of the deceased have since been deposited at a morgue while some of the victims including the mother of the deceased children, were taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and a private Hospital in the area.
