Court Remands Nurse For Assaulting LAGBUS Officials




An Ogudu Magistrates' Court has remanded 48-year old nurse, Oduwole Taiwo, who allegedly assaulted workers of a commercial bus owned by the Lagos State Government, LAGBUS after failing to pay the correct fare during the incident, which took place on July 10.

The magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat had granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum adding that she should be remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons until her bail conditions her met.

Taiwo, who lives on Lucky Fiber Road in Ikorodu, had earlier pleaded not guilty to counts of disorderly conduct and assault occasioning harm.

According to the prosecutor Sergeant Ihehie Lucky, there was an argument between the accused and a LAGBUS conductor over the fare before the former assaulted the driver Oghogho Gabriel while driving causing him to lose control and hit another BRT bus.

Her case was eventually adjourned till September 20, 2016.
