Love With Flora Part 9.

The ward was full; Flora went round greeting the patients she knew and getting to know the new ones. By Eleven the ward had become so quiet. Flora went noiselessly to the desk and sat down to check the chart once more. She was a good nurse and always careful. She was halfway through the chart of Doctor Dave's house keeper. Such a nice old thing...... She decided, she had really become like her very much. Flora had learned a few Dutch words from her while her hands was being treated. She was glad to know that her hands were healing nicely. She turned the chart over and heard the door behind her open. Thank God, she whispered. I Thought you were never going to come. Now that is quite the most nicest thing you have ever said to me. Doctor Dave's whisper was in her ears, He had bent down over her chair and she turned quickly to find his grey eyes within an inch or so of her own.
She managed out of short of breath, said, My grandmother told me that you had gone to Holland. Yes that's right but now am back to see someone important. Flora got up from her chair with much dignity as space permitted her, for he had not moved an inch. If you came to see your house keeper, it's very late because she will be fast asleep by now. I saw my house keeper this evening. He said. Then who have you come to see. Oh....the someone. i have already seen her. I just decided to pop in while merely passing. Flora stared up at him, wishing she knew who this someone was. There were many pretty girls in St. Nicholas hospital. Becky was wondering how she could find out who that important person was when junior staff nurse Jenning came in with two mugs of coffee. She stopped when she saw the doctor. Dave took the mug from her and set them down on the desk. I will be going now, please keep an eye on this nurse of yours. I doubt believe she has ever heard about; all work and no play makes one a dull doll.
