Bus Driver Arrested For Killing A Tricycle Driver.


A commercial bus driver, Hakeem Kolawole, has been charged to court for allegedly causing the death of a tricycle operator.

Hakeem allegedly drove recklessly on a highway, thereby causing the death of the tricycle operator.

Prosecuting Inspector, Ingobo Emby, told an Igbosere magistrates’ court that the defendant committed the offence on June 8, around 6.00 p.m. at Kofo Abayomi Street on Victoria Island.
He alleged that Kolawole drove a Volkswagen LT Bus with registration number EKY 529 XH recklessly.
“In the course of the reckless driving, he caused the death of one Friday Ezeh, 35, who was driving a tricycle,” Emby said.

He added that the defendant, while driving his vehicle in a negligent manner and in a speed above the stipulated limit had so allegedly damaged the deceased’s tricycle.


The magistrate, B.A Sonuga, granted him N2 million bail with two sureties in the like sum after Kolawole, 40, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of reckless driving, manslaughter and damage to a tricycle.

The matter was adjourned till July 7.
